At Niko Engineering, we believe in the power of unity, camaraderie, and family. That’s why we recently organised two special family weekend getaways to the scenic destinations of Taupo and Kaikoura. It was an opportunity for our North and South Island team members to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with their loved ones outside the office environment.
Taupo – Nature’s Playground
The North Island adventure was held in Taupo, a picturesque town nestled on the shores of New Zealand’s largest lake. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, Taupo offered the perfect setting for outdoor activities and family-friendly fun.
From a scenic bike ride alongside the mighty Waikato River to exhilarating jet boat rides to view the Huka falls up close and personal, our team and their families enjoyed a range of exciting experiences that showcased the beauty and diversity of the region.
Kaikoura – A Coastal Retreat
The South Islanders headed to Kaikoura, a charming coastal town famous for its abundant marine life and stunning coastal scenery. Here, our team had the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of New Zealand’s most iconic wildlife.
A highlight of our time in Kaikoura was the opportunity to swim with dolphins. Witnessing these amazing creatures in their natural habitat was a truly memorable experience that left a lasting impression on everyone who participated. Additionally, our team enjoyed llama trekking (yes, the walking of llamas – quite an unexpected, but amazing experience of building trust with a very large animal), as well as the kayaking alongside fur seals, and the savouring of exquisite tastes of the local cuisine.
Building Connections, Creating Memories
The Niko Engineering family weekend was not just about exploring new destinations; it was also about strengthening bonds, building connections, and creating lasting memories. It was heartwarming to see team members and their families coming together, sharing laughs, stories, and experiences in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
